ELABORATION
Grapes from the Cuesta la Reina estate, a hillside facing the sun with poor soils where the family has been cultivating the vineyard for four generations. A place from which very fine and elegant wines are obtained, capable of expressing all the character of the land in which they are grown. After a meticulous monitoring of the vineyard, the grapes are harvested at the optimum moment of ripeness. Harvesting is done by hand, selecting the healthy and ripe grapes, rejecting the raw and deteriorated ones.
The fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks and with indigenous yeast. Once the fermentation is finished, it is macerated for at least 10 days. It is aged in American oak barrels with an average age of 5 years and remains in them for at least 14 months. During this time, three rackings are made. Once cleaned, the wine is bottled, remaining in the bottle before going on the market for at least 6 months.
TASTING NOTES
Bright ruby red colour. Clean and complex on the nose, aromas of fruit well combined with fine oak wood tones that stand out notably. Good structure in the mouth, balanced and tasty. With great character and long persistence. Complex and elegant retro-olfaction, aromas of red fruit and touches of quality wood.
FOOD MATCH
Accompanies perfectly with semi aged cheeses, red meat, roasts, stews and game.
